Realising that infectious diseases are and will continue to be a formidable challenge to human welfare and economic development in Africa for the near future and realising that Africa probably has the highest burden of dangerous infectious diseases in the world and yet the least capacity for their risk management, the academic and research institutions in southern Africa joined forces to form the Southern African Centre for Infectious Diseases and Surveillance (SACIDS).
If you share the vision of our mission for enhancing the research capacity of Africa for the detection, identification and monitoring of infectious diseases with a view to their risk management, we seek your financial support.
You can support us either through a structured project/programme for which we would be ready to submit a Concept Note for consideration or through single activities such as scholarships for PhDs, annual One Health Summer School, biennial One Health Conference in Africa or provision of equipment.
