SACIDS Foundation for One Health participated in Farmer’s Exhibitions 2019

SACIDS participated in the annual Agricultural Exhibition famously known as NaneNane, which was officially opened by Tanzanian Vice President, Hon. Samia Suluhu Hassan the event took place between 1-8 August 2019 at Nyakabindi Grounds, in Bariadi Town, Tanzania.

During the Exhibitions, SACIDS Foundation presented successes and achievements in  its work on One Health Reseach and training, Capacity Building, Smart Partnership, as well as exhibited scientific work in promoting One Heath security including application of AfyaData to enhance early detection, timely reporting and prompt response of health events in human and animal populations.

 

 

 

SACIDS Foundation took part in the exhibitions in both Morogoro and Simiyu, whereby its booth in Morogoro was privileged to be visited by various guests including Former president of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete where he commended Foundations work in AfyaData initiative suggesting to be scaled up to all regions in Tanzania.

  

In Simiyu, SACIDS booth was priviledged to be visited by Tanzanian Minister of Agriculture, Japhet Asunga together with Prof. Ratlan Pardede, Indonesian Ambassador to Tanzania  also SACIDS exhobitors had a chance to speak to various media houses including TBC and Bunda FM about Foundation activities.

The “Nane Nane” (Farmer’s day) also known as the Agricultural Exhibition, is a one-week annual fair that takes place every year from August 1-8 in various regions of Tanzania. During the Fair, farmers and other stakeholders (e.g. universities and research institutions) display new technologies, ideas, discoveries and alternative solutions concerning the agricultural sector. It is an exhibition where government and private firms showcase their products, services and activities to the public. This year’s theme for the Exhibitions was “Kilimo, Mifugo na Uvuvi kwa ukuaji wa uchumi wa Nchi” meaning “Agriculture, Pastoralism and Fisheries for Economic Growth”
