Dr. Bernard Mudenda Hang’ombe a postdoctoral Researcher from the University of Zambia, School of Veterinary Medicine. He is a Microbiologist with strict bias to Bacteriology. Has worked and continue to work with rare bacteria organisms.
Currently he is working with Yersinia pestis and other bacteria organisms such as Salmonella, Clostridia and Bacillus anthracis. The main theme of his work is to understand the ecology and pathogenicity of bacteria organisms in the natural environment especially during outbreak periods.
To enhance this study, molecular tools are fully applied in the diagnosis and identification of these pathogens. The study will certainly contribute to the understanding of sporadic disease outbreaks in the natural environments of Africa.
